On Friday (January 24), Los Angeles County’s District Attorney Nathan Hochman ruled that prosecutors will not pursue criminal charges against Marilyn Manson over past allegations of sexual assault and domestic violence made against the shock rocker. This move follows a year-long investigation into the alleged 2009 and 2011 assaults, with Hochman issuing a statement noting that the statute of limitations had expired for any domestic violence charges against Manson, and they lacked sufficient evidence to try him on sexual assault charges in court. “We have determined that allegations of domestic violence fall outside of the statute of limitations, and we cannot prove charges of sexual assault beyond a reasonable doubt,” Hochman said. Lawyer Howard King represented Manson (born Brian Warner), and said they were “very pleased” with the outcome. “After a thorough and incredibly lengthy review of all of the actual evidence, the District Attorney has concluded what we knew and expressed from the start – Brian Warner is innocent,” King said.
